Welcome! My name is Carlos Rodriguez and I am a senior instructor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. In my current role, I primarily develop and maintain data pipelines and perform data analysis for academic research purposes.
Prior to my current position, I completed a Ph.D. in psychology (behavioral neuroscience) and underwent post-doctoral training centered on functional neuroimaging. My graduate level research was primarily aimed at better understanding how prenatal alcohol alters network connectivity in the brain and how machine learning approaches could be leveraged to develop non-invasive diagnostic tools for fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.
In addition to my research, I have a longstanding commitment to mentoring students from under-represented backgrounds. I have mentored under-represented students in achieving their research career goals through my involvement with the Society for Neuroscience, the University of New Mexico’s El Centro de la Raza, and the Society for Advancing Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science.
